Password Generator is a free Chrome extension developed by BilliamTheSecond that allows users to generate strong and recoverable SHA1 password hashes from a master password. The extension is a Chrome implementation of Nic Wolff's SHA1 password generator and uses the hashing code directly from the original source. It adds a "save" button to store the master password, if desired, and automatically pre-fills the site name with the current site's root domain name.
One notable feature of Password Generator is that the last three characters of the generated password will always be "1a!" for sites that require a combination of letters, numbers, and/or punctuation. Additionally, there is an option to set the last three characters to "1a" for compatibility with angel.net.
The extension also offers some recent updates, including the ability to generate longer passwords of up to 27 or 28 characters before adding extra characters. It now recognizes .io domains when stripping subdomains and has been upgraded to support Chrome 67.
